Kei Asano

Kei Asano is a 3rd-year undergraduate student at Columbia University, majoring in Applied Mathematics. His research interest lies in augmenting the human interface using technologies such as wearable interfaces and VR/AR. He is currently advised by Professor Steven K. Feiner at the CGUI Lab. He has also worked at the Rekimoto Lab at University of Tokyo.

Outside of research, Kei founded the company Diver-X. His work received a CES Innovation Award and succeeded in a Kickstarter campaign. The product he developed at the company is currently used by over 1,000 VR users worldwide.

His past work includes developing a head-mounted display designed for use while lying down and a hand-tracking glove that functions as a VR controller. He aim to further explore how capturing and interpreting human actions can lead to transformative experiences.
